Custom Mouth Guards

A child should wear a mouth guard whenever he is in an activity with risk of a fall or head contact with another player or sports equipment. Typically, sports, where a mouth guard is mandatory, such as hockey or football, are where we see less oral injuries. Nearly half of sports-related mouth injuries occur in basketball and baseball.

For children with mixed dentition (both primary and adult teeth), we recommend Mueller’s Muellerguard mouth guard which can be molded to fit your child’s teeth. For our athletes with full adult dentition, we recommend professionally made custom mouth guards available at our office. At home, moldable mouth guards are also available at sporting goods stores.

We strongly feel that any mouth guard is better than no mouth guard!
